The on ramp I use everyday on my way to work was closed for construction this morning. No message from the City of Hurst yesterday saying this on ramp would be closed. I was on my happy way this morning thinking everything would be fine and dandy until I made the turn to get on the freeway.
ARGGG… close my on ramp? Not while I’m trying to get to work. ARGGG… time to detour. Well, Craig is a few cars behind me this morning. I get to the light past the closed on ramp… only one lane goes straight through the light. Next thing I know, I see Craig zooming past me in the left hand turn lane! I watch ahead thinking no one will let him in, they’ve all waiting in line PATIENTLY (like me). But to my dismay, he cuts in and makes it through the light. Double ARGGG. I end up making it to the on ramp through a slight detour and get on the freeway. But traffic is slow going where I get on. I’m frustrated, angry at every driver, and just ready to get out of traffic.
Finally, the road clears up a bit and I make it into the fast lane. I go a little more than a mile before I have the best laugh in a long time. I see a moving truck with the truck sticking out of the back end. I know, you’re probably thinking I’m crazy, but to prove I’m not, I took a picture to post online!

We celebrated my grandmothers 85th birthday with a surprise party with family. It was kind of funny... since Nana lives with my parents; they convinced her that a bunch of my brothers 22 year-old baseball teammates would be coming over for lunch, hence the reason for buying so much food. When she found out the party was for her, she asked if the boys were still coming over. When we said no, that it was just a made up reason for buying food, she seemed kind of sad they weren't coming! Funny Nana.
Craig's birthday was on April 16. We went to Traildust in Arlington for dinner. We'd never been and now we know why. It's very touristy... not my kind of place. After dinner, we went to the Rangers game. It was the night Kinsler hit for the cycle and went 6 for 6. It was an exciting game but the best part was we were on TV. I kind of blended in, but everyone saw Craig in this blue jersey! 
I worked this past Saturday for a friend at work. We had a post-game concert with Jack Ingram and I was on hand to help the partnering radio station set up. After the concert, Doss, Molly, Craig, and I went back stage and met Jack Ingram. He’s such a nice guy. He introduced himself as if we wouldn’t know who he was… he even wanted to know our names. I thought that was pretty cool! 
Every Thursday for the past two months, I’ve been rehearsing with Flutissimo! Flute Choir. We’re down to our last few rehearsals before the concerts begin. I think I’m ready for the first performance on May 3. I’ll give you guys more details about the concerts in another post.
